Installing the Uniview Plugin on Google Chrome

One of the most common questions we’ve been asked is how to install the Uniview plugin and view the cameras on the web browser. In the past, it was necessary to use Internet Explorer to open the plugin and view the cameras.

Now, you can use any modern web browser including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox to download and install the plugin. Watch the video below to find out how.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you’re having issues getting the plugin to work, there are a few steps you can try to resolve it.

First, you need to understand the firmware version of the device you’re trying to login to. Versions from the year 2021 and older may require you to use internet explorer to open the plugin.

Second, ensure your computer’s anti-virus is not preventing the plugin from downloading, installing, or opening. We have seen issues with ESET’s Banking Protection feature; you need to disable it otherwise the plugin will not work.

Lastly, try clearing you browser’s cache. A helpful shortcut is Ctrl + Shift + Del to quickly open the menu for clearing your browser history and cache. After deleting the cache, reload the web page for the Uniview device.
