Reyee P2P Wireless Bridge Connects Two Buildings in Toronto

The Distillery District is a historic village in Toronto which is home to a variety of attractions – including unique shops, museums, art galleries, and cafés. The site attracts more than 2 million visitors per year, which means they need full CCTV coverage to keep an eye on things.

Not only is the Distillery District a great place to visit  – it’s also home to one of the first Reyee P2P Bridges in Canada.

Reyee P2P Bridge – What’s it used for?

To connect two buildings to the same network, you’ll almost always need a physical wire connecting the two locations. However, in some instances that’s not possible – especially if you’re installing equipment on a heritage site like the Distillery District. An alternative solution is required.

The Reyee P2P Bridge is the perfect solution – it transmits a wireless signal that connects two locations as if they were linked by ethernet. The transmitter and receiver are both pre-configured from the factory – meaning you can simply power them up and point them at each other.

Wireless bridges are commonly paired with security cameras. This allows the camera to be installed at a distant location – as long as power is available.

Location of the Bridge & Cameras

The Reyee Bridge is located in the alleyway behind Boku Japanese Eats + Drinks. It’s mounted next to a Uniview 4MP turret camera, which provides coverage of the entrance to the alleyway and nearby restaurants.

The video recorder for the entire system is located inside a building to the right of the alley. In total, more than twenty-five CCTV cameras are recorded to an NVR and monitored by security guards in the main building. When an incident occurs, they can react in real time to what’s happening on the security cameras.
